Man opens fire in Daytona Beach medical center before taking his own life. Claire Metz reports.

(WESH) A gunman died and two nurses suffered minor injuries after shots were fired at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida early Sunday morning.

Authorities with the Daytona Beach Police Department said police were in the area of the hospital after receiving a call about shots being fired at a car on Clyde Morris Boulevard just before 4 a.m.

Investigators said a call was then received of shots being fired inside the hospital. They said Jonathan Rodriguez-Jeff, 20, of Deltona, shot a glass door and headed to the second floor, where he confronted two nurses and two patients in two rooms.

"He confronted a nurse and a patient inside a room," said Daytona Beach police spokesman Jimmie Flynt. "He asked did they want to die tonight. He confronted another patient and a nurse, and then he proceeded to commit suicide by shooting himself in the head."
