Across the border, armed gunmen attacked Mexican soldiers in front of an elementary school in Matamoros and several suspects were arrested.

Three men are recovering from injuries and a convenience store employee was shot outside the store. Dozen of shell casings were found all around the street and some vehicles were damaged by bullets. More than 60 children were making their way to school when the shooting occurred.
