Ground beef recalled due to possible E. Coli contamination
More than 23,000 pounds of ground beef products are being recalled on fears they may be contaminated with e-coli bacteria.
The recalled cases of beef come from National Beef Packing Company, based in Liberal, Kansas.
You're seeing file video of ground beef similar to the variety under the recall, which was announced by the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The recall is categorized as a "Class One." that indicates a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
No illnesses have been reported in relation to the products. The contamination was found as a result of routine inspection.
Check with your local grocer to learn if any of the beef under recall was sold in your area.
HEB management, in the Valley, says none of its beef products are affected by the recall.
