A Grand Jury handed down capital murder indictments for Kim and Eric Williams on Thursday in connection with the slayings of District Attorney Mike McLelland, his wife Cynthia and Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse.

Investigators allege Eric Williams, a former Justice of the Peace in Kaufman County, shot and killed Hasse in January and the McLellands in March after the attorneys prosecuted him in a theft case that ultimately cost him his law license and position as a judge.

According to an arrest affidavit, Kim Williams confessed to her involvement in the shootings and named her husband as the shooter while providing police with details about the killings that were not released publicly. (Read the arrest warrant attached below.)

Kaufman County district attorneys will not be involved in the prosecution of the case due to previous involvements with all parties. Toby Shook and Bill Wirskye have been named special prosecutors in the case.

Officials said the cases will be death penalty cases.

Additionally, Judge B. Michael Chitty has been recused in the case and a visiting judge will take his place.

After the judge has been named, a trial date can be set.

NBC 5's Randy McIlwain contributed to this report.
