Governor Perry appoints Senator Lucio, Jr. to Redistricting Committee
AUSTIN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Governor Rick Perry has appointed Senator Lucio, Jr. to the Senate Redistricting Committee.
Senator Lucio, Jr. will be a member of the committee that will be in charge of drawing congressional and legislative maps during a special session this week.
The Special Session was ordered to ratify maps for districts used to elect members of the Texas House of Representatives, Texas Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.
Senator Lucio is one of fifteen members on the redistricting committee, which will meet for the first time on Thursday, May 30, at the Texas Capitol in Austin.
