The Federal Equal Opportunity Employment Commission has filed a suit against Bass Pro Outdoor World stores following a four year inquiry.
The inquiry claims that Bass Pro Shops has a pattern of not hiring minorities in the 55 stores across the country. The commission reports that the company destroyed employment applications and internal discrimination complaints. Due to the ongoing litigation Bass Pro management has declined to comment on the suit . A Bass Pro store is under construction in Harlingen and that store expects to open later this year and employ an estimated 450 people.
