On Wednesday more than a million young, illegal immigrants across the country can start becoming legal, at least temporarily.

A federal program to defer deportation of illegal immigrants aged 30 and younger becomes an official policy Wednesday.

In June, President Obama announced undocumented immigrants brought to the US as children and who meet other requirements can get temporary relief and avoid deportation.

As many as a 150-thousand people in Texas are expected to apply to stay in the country legally.
