Anonymous gossip tweets are creating quite the controversy at Edinburg high schools.

Twitter accounts dedicated to what's called confession tweets call out some students by name. They tell stories of students' sex lives and drug use.

The Edinburg school district is doing what it can to stop the cyber-bullying. Officials have played bullying videos for students. Parents have been asked to be more active in their kids social media use.

Twitter is not allowed on school devices, but students can use their own devices at school.

"It's really difficult to stop it because we don't have any control over their devices," Edinburg CISD superintendent Rene Gutierrez said. "Unless we see them doing it in school, and we can pick them up, their cell phones, if they're doing it, we can't see them and obviously they can do it anytime of the day."

Students who are part of bullying can be kicked off clubs and sports teams and can even be kicked out of school.
