Colorado police say man slipped through girl's bedroom window in attempted abduction. Meagan Fitzgerald reports.

(KUSA) Police in Aurora, Colorado say there is now a $20,000 reward for information that could help them find a man who reportedly tried to kidnap an 8-year-old girl from her bedroom Monday.

Police believe the suspect broke through a screen in a window of a home on Hanover Street and tried to take the girl. The girl screamed, which got the attention of her father, and the girl somehow managed to escape. Police say the girl's father ran outside toward the alley where he was able to get a glimpse of the suspect's car.

The girl was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male with blond hair wearing a black winter style jacket and could be traveling in a silver or grey newer model BMW.

Police are treating the case as an attempted stranger abduction, a rare crime. Investigators have been studying surveillance videos of nearby businesses and searching sex offender databases.
