Gingrich Glitter Attack
Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich and wife showered with glitter during book signing.
Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich was doused with glitter by a protester at a book-signing event in Minneapolis, Minnesota Tuesday night.
The man who dumped the glitter, Robert Erickson, posted this video to his political blog and on YouTube.
Erickson is known as somewhat of a prankster who has disrupted at least two other political events.
The gay rights activist reportedly said "Stop the hate!" as he dumped the box of glitter.
He was then rushed from the room by security personnel.
Neither Gingrich nor his wife Callista were injured in the incident.
Last year Erickson, who also goes by the name Nick Espinosa, dumped a bag full of pennies in the lap of a Republican candidate for Minnesota governor.
