It's a discouraging sight, the price changes from week to week or even overnight.
"They just keep going up every day." said a driver filling up her tank.
Drivers woke up Tuesday morning to gas station signs posting, on average, about $3.85 a gallon.
A sign that, once again, prices are slowly creeping towards the $4.00 a gallon mark.
"At this point I guess, I mean bite the bullet and take the price a while until I can figure something else out on what to do." said the driver.
The thought of even higher gas prices probably has many drivers considering alternative transportation, cutting back on travel, or splitting the cost of gas. That's definitely one possibility for this driver.
"I would like to carpool as well with someone, but I live kind of far out." said the driver.
She says her car gets pretty good gas mileage, but it still costs a lot to fill up her tank.
"Price keeps going up, so what do I do? Do I buy my shoes or do I put gas in the car?" she joked.
Gas! - Of course gas is her choice. She says getting to work and running errands is her focus. Cutting back on other spending in order to pay for gas is her priority.
To date, we're just about eight cents from our record high here in the lower valley. Back in early July of 2008 the price at the pump for a gallon of regular unleaded hit $3.93 a gallon, a price many drivers are hoping we don't see again.
