After traveling across the country an organization made it's last stop in McAllen before sending aid abroad. The Friendship Caravan will send more than 100 tons of medical and school supplies to Cuba. They started in Candida and hit 100 cities, including Austin and Corpus Christi. About fifty members will cross the Hidalgo and Pharr port of entries and place the donated supplies on a ship. IFCO Co-Director Gail Walker stated, "We believe that the policy of our government, the United States government, toward Cuba is immoral, is unjust, is outdated and that there really aren't many, many, many people across, not just the United States, but the world who think that this is a policy that needs to be changed."
