Former Starr County Sheriff Reymundo Guerra pleaded guilty to federal drug charges on Friday morning.
In court he admitted to sharing law enforcement information with a Mexican drug ring in exchange for information. The U.S. Attorney says Guerra earned about $3,000 dollars each time. Guerra could face life in prison, though that is not likely since he reached a plea agreement with prosecutors.
He must pay a find $4 million dollars and his sentencing is scheduled for July 29th.
