BROWNSVILLE— A former U.S. probation officer from the Valley will serve 14 years in prison for taking bribes from drug traffickers.

38-year-old Armando Mora received that sentence today in a Brownsville Federal Court.

Mora pled guilty to accepting money in exchange for providing confidential government information to drug lords in 2009.

Mora helped the drug traffickers hire truck drivers with clean arrest records so police and Border Patrol wouldn't become suspicious.
