A McAllen police officer has resigned after his DWI arrest this weekend.

State Department of Public Safety officers stopped Jose Omar Ybarra on Saturday morning for speeding.

Ybarra refused to take a breathalyzer test, but DPS has a no-refusal period for the holiday season.  The 14-year police veteran resigned from his position this week.
