Former McAllen man convicted for laundering Millions of dollars to Iran

A Former McAllen Urologist and his wife, are facing up to 20 years in prison.

Hossein Lahiji and his attorney wife were convicted in federal court in Oregon, of laundering millions of dollars to Iran.

That violates U.S.. Sanctions against Iran.

The couple got tax exemptions for donations they made to a non-profit.

Court documents say that non-profit funneled money to Iran.

The trial lasted 13 days.
