Five people arrested in Harlingen bar fight

Harlingen police arrested five individuals after a bar fight broke out at Pappo's Bar on Sunday.

On November 4th around 1:30 a.m., an officer conducting a bar check at Pappo's Bar, located on the 1600 block of W. Harrison Ave, witnessed a bar fight between two women later identified as Ashley Nicole Davila, 23, and Vianey Estella Martinez, 22.

A security officer stepped in to detain Davila and the officer approached Martinez to handcuff her when another man, identified as Jorge William Ayala Jr., 24, stepped between the officer and Martinez.

The officer ordered Ayala to step aside and not interfere, but he refused and a struggle ensued in which another individual, Andres Martinez, 34, interfered and attempted to pull Ayala away from the officer.

A third man, Darrell Arthur Davila, 22, became involved in the struggle, but the officer was able to gain control of the situation and all five individuals were arrested on various offenses.

Both Ashley Davila and Vianey Martinez were charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication, Jorge William Ayala Jr. was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and interference with public duties, Andres Martinez was charged with interference with public duties and Darrell Arthur Davila was charged with public intoxication.
