Fires & Floods

Wildfires rage in Texas as the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee push up the East Coast.

Texas firefighters are looking at another extreme day on the job.

Even with help from above Monday in the form of fire-fighting helicopters, crews on the ground were outmatched.

In Bastrop, just outside of Austin, more than 450 homes have been reduced to cinders.

5,000 families have been forced out of their homes and hundreds are living in shelters.

In Louisiana the biggest problem is flooding.

New Orleans is bailing out from Tropical Storm Lee.

The storm surge has most of nearby LaFitte under water.

Lee spawned at least 20 tornados, including one just outside of Atlanta.

The storm system is expected to move to the northeast in the coming days, carrying the risk of more damage and flooding to areas still cleaning up after Hurricane Irene.
