The McAllen Fire Department is getting another $10,000 award.

This time, it's from HEB. As you recall, the McAllen firefighters won $10,000 in a nationwide contest and donated the money.

For that generosity, HEB is donating to the Fire Department the same amount for a new all-terrain vehicle.

Ever since the first win brought them national attention, McAllen firefighters have been all over the city with their new-found fame.

"As firefighters, when we go to scenes, it's very serious, sometimes very traumatic, and the public doesn't always see us in a lighter aspect," McAllen firefighter Mark Zamora said. "So to be out here today...it's great to see a lighter side of the fire service. That hey, we can have fun too."

The McAllen Fire Department had said all along if it won the first grand prize, it would be donated to the Texas Line of Duty Task Force. And that's exactly where it went.
