Fire Marshall to Investigate Condo Fire

PORT ISABEL - A women and young child are safe after escaping a fire at their Port Isabel condo.

The fire started around 11AM on Friday at 1318 Harbor Island Drive. The Port Isabel Fire Chief says the women was cooking and left to check on her child in another room, only to return to find her kitchen on fire. Both the woman and the child managed to get out of the condo safely. The Port Isabel Fire Department was able to put out the fire with the help from South Padre Island and Laguna Vista Fire Departments. The Port Isabel Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
