Fire Kills Man Overnight

A former professor is dead after an overnight fire in Brownsville.
Cameron County Fire Marshal, Armando Lucio says, Last night's blaze killed 62-year old, Wayne Lewis.
Investigators say, It happened on Royal Palm Drive, around 10:30 last night.
Firefighters rushed to his home, to put out the blaze.
At this time, they believe the fire started in the kitchen, then engulfed the entire home.
Emergency Medical crews found Wayne Lewis, who lived by himself,
inside thehome.
They say, he was badly burned.
Crews immediately rushed him to Valley Regional Medical Center, where he died.
Something, which makes his neighbor, 18-year old, Luis Rivera, very sad.
He says, "He's a really nice person, really educated, it's bad that I'm never going to see him again."
Rivera says, he would go over to Lewis' house once a week, and listen to his stories about his travels and career.
He says, Lewis was an inspiration to him because he lived such a successful life.
According to him, Lewis was a professor and would always tell him not to give up, and go for what he wanted out of life.
Neighbors say, when they saw the fire they all pitched in to help, by throwing water on the flames, until firefighters could arrive.
The Fire Marshal continues to investigate how the blaze started.
We're being told, Lewis was found by the door, as if he was trying to get out.
