Fire hydrant replacements to cause water interruptions the week of July 28th
BROWNSVILLE, TX — The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) will replace water hydrants during the week of July 28, which will cause temporary water interruptions for some BPUB customers.
The fire hydrant replacement project is an effort by BPUB to ensure hydrants all over the city are in good working condition and don’t leak. Over time, hydrants can develop water leaks. Replacing hydrants reduces water losses and increases water availability.
