Congressman elect Blake Farenthold has issued a statement after learning about representative Solomon Ortiz's request for a recount.

" Mr. Oritz and I agree on one thing, the votes of people of South Texas should be counted accurately and that no vote should be left out. I can't effectively represent South Texas as long as this baseless recount drags on. I am hopeful this resolves itself quickly so I can focus on what really matters most."
