Enhanced structural inspections have been ordered for a number of older Boeing 737's.
The Federal Aviation Administration Safety Directive will inspect more than 130 airplanes. This stems from a hole that opened, during flight, on a Southwest jet in July. The one foot wide hole opened from a Baltimore to Nashville flight and the cabin lost air pressure and the pilot made an emergency landing in West Virginia. The FAA Directive are calling for increased inspections that also look at the body of the plane.
