Ohio governor issues stay of execution to consider condemned child killer's plea to donate organs to his ailing family members. Liz Adeola reports.

(WCMH) Ohio Governor John Kasich issued a last-minute stay of execution Wednesday for convicted child murderer Ronald Phillips.

Kasich issued the stay after an unusual plea from Phillips, who is hoping to donate his heart and kidney to ailing family members.

Governor Kasich said that while Phillips was convicted of a heinous crime, his willingness to save other lives by donating his organs should be considered.
