An ex-common law husband is arrested for public intoxication and then additionally charged in threatening his ex-wife and children.

Back on April 1, in the early morning hours, Harlingen police were dispatched to the 700 block of Sonesta Drive in reference to a disturbance.

When officers arrived the victim reported that when she arrived home, with her two children and her cousin, she saw her ex-common law husband, Brent Lee Wilson, 46, coming out of her apartment carrying her television set.

She then stated that Wilson dropped the TV and fled the scene. The victim informed the officers she had left Wilson, moved to Harlingen, and had no idea how he found her new address.

On April 13, Wilson returned to the victim's apartment and assaulted her, pushed both her children to the ground and then pulled a pocket knife threatening to kill the family if they spoke to the police.

Police did arrest Wilson on Thursday, May 9, for the public intoxication and then added charges of burglary of a habitation, two counts of injury to a child, terroristic threat and assault with his bail set at $155,000.
