A well-known Valley guitarist, lost his left arm in a horrible car accident, but that will not make him miss a beat with the Harlingen community is pitching in to help this local musician.
A tragic accident took 33 year-old, Andy Chapa's ability to play guitar, but not his will. Musician, Andy Chapa from the Philosopher Dave Band, says he wants the opportunity for an encore. Friends like Pam Monroe, at Halingen's Boog-A-Dee Boo's Bar are doing something special.
They're holding a fund-raiser, cleverly titled, "He's All Right", so Andy can buy a prosthetic arm and co-founder of the band, Jake Snyder says he can't wait to have Andy's guitar riffs back.
A tough up-hill battle, it will be, but Chapa says it's time to face the music and he says, he's already talking with doctors, and hopes to have a prosthetic arm by August.
The fundraiser is Saturday at Boog-A-Dee-Boo's and will feature 8 local bands. There is no cover charge, but a $5 dollar chicken dinner will be served.
