Endinburg police to increase enhanced patrolling during Spring Break
EDINBURG, TEXAS (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — The Edinburg Police Department will be working overtime this Spring Break to keep drunk drivers off the streets. As part of a special enforcement effort funded by the Texas Department of Transportation, officers will be out in full force throughout the City.
Spring Break in Edinburg like in many Texas Cities runs from March 11-15. Officers will begin their enhanced patrol beginning March 8th and will run through March 17th in order to cover the weekend before and the weekend after.
During last year’s Spring Break, Edinburg PD made nine (9) arrests. Statewide, DPS troopers made more than 1,000 DWI arrests.
The Edinburg Police Department has a zero tolerance for impaired drivers, if you drink and drive in Edinburg, you will go to jail.
