Employee uses $1,800 in company funds to pay on a personal account

Harlingen police arrested and charged a former employee, of Verizon Wireless, for theft after he used company funds to pay on a personal account.

On October 2, 2013 police took a theft report from the manager of a Verizon Wireless store, located at 2020 W. Expressway 83.

The manager reported that an employee, identified as Ricardo Davila Jr., 30, had taken $500 from the register to pay on a personal account and failed to reimburse the company.

During the investigation Verizon management was able to determine the amount taken had increased to $1,800 between January and October of 2013.

An arrest warrant was issued for Davila Jr., who later turned himself into authorities and he was charged and handed a bond of $5,000.
