Elementary School Locked Down After Police Open Fire on Suspected Smugglers

Police confiscate almost 700 lbs. of marijuana

PALMVIEW- Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary was placed under lockdown for over an hour Tuesday afternoon. Police chased two suspected smugglers in an F-250 and ended up opening fire after the driver rammed his car into his unit. The truck ended up in a near by canal near brush line road where police seized almost 700 lbs. of marijuana. One suspect is under arrest but the other managed to get away. He is described as a medium build man wearing blue jeans and a black jacket. Police say he may have been picked up in a blue Dodge Chrysler.
Luckily no one was injured in the incident.
