CAMERON COUNTY, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Voters in Cameron County and in the Valley are voting Tuesday on several constitutional amendments.
"There are some Veteran issues, about exemption from property taxes on some of their properties, 1-4 deal with that. Proposition 6 deals with the Texas water relief fund, as far as funds for drought relief. There is proposition number #8 that affects Hidalgo County dealing with the medical district." said Cameron County Elections Administrator Christopher Davis.
Elections administrator Christopher Davis says at the 36 polling locations things have been running smoothly with the voter ID Law that requires the voter to have a photo ID to have their vote count.
"We haven't really seen any kind of issues as far as folks lacking that id, most if not everyone has had an id to vote."said Davis.
Davis says early voting numbers are up in Cameron County compared to the last Constitutional amendment election.
"Early voting was good we have a 25-26% increase compared to 20-11."said Davis.
