The City of Edinburg's proposed budget comes with good news for property owners as it includes no property tax rate increase for the year. If the budget is passed it will be the 18th year in a row that the city has not increased the commercial or residential tax. Two hearings to vote on the issue are scheduled next month as City Manager Ramiro Garza stated, "It's an ongoing managing of the budget throughout the year and I think it pays off in times like this when we're able to stick to what has been appropriated and be able to plan for the following year."
