Police in Edinburg are searching for two men involved in an unusual smash and grab over the weekend.

Two men in a surveillance video took the sign that's in front of the store literally when they drove through the garage style door for a quick steal. The men used a car as a battering ram to get inside the convenience store located on Cano street in Edinburg. What the crooks didn't know is the store had installed a surveillance camera which caught the crime as they drove through the doors, got out and grabbed cash from the cash register and then drove out all under two minutes.

The alarm system immediately went off and alerted police to the burglary. Edinburg police are not surprised about the recent smash and grab going on in the surrounding cities. Police have arrested one of the suspects, a 17 year-old, on Monday who is at the Edinburg jail cell and awaiting his arraignment.

The other suspect remains at large and if anyone has any information call Edinburg CrimeStoppers at 956.383.TIPS.
