Edinburg mayor speaks to city officials at annual State of the City Address
EDINBURG, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Dozens of city officials met on Thursday afternoon for a special ceremony as part of the annual Edinburg State of the City Address.
Government and law enforcement officials from Edinburg and its neighboring cities gathered on Thursday to celebrate Edinburg's successes.
Edinburg Mayor Richard Garcia addressed the crowd about the growth and future prosperity expected for the city, "Today, Edinburg is poised as a leader in the Rio Grande Valley, a leader in the state, and that leadership position is established not because I say so today here at the state of the city, but because of the activity of our city."
Mayor Garcia adds that the new UT-RGV university will be a significant factor in the growth of the City of Edinburg and the entire Valley as a whole.
