Texas Comptroller urges people to check for unclaimed money.

An estimated 1 in 4 Texans have money waiting to be claimed, according to the state.

Texas Comptroller Susan Combs, made a stop in Harlingen on Tuesday urging everyone to check with her office for unclaimed cash. That includes payroll or cashier checks, mutual funds, utility deposits and other refunds. Some go the chance to check directly for themselves and Combs also delivered checks to city and county leaders for unclaimed cash.
