There's a noticeably reduced amount of brand loyalty among car buyers.
Back in the 80's nearly 80% of car buyers stayed with a brand once they bought a car, but so far this year, only 20% of car shoppers stayed with the same brand when buying a new car. As a result, automakers have had to shift how they market themselves, from an umbrella approach that promoted the brand, to more targeted approach to sell the types of models.
