Administration looking to extend unemployment benefits.

Top economic advisers to President Obama say the administration will work with Congress to extend unemployment benefits for millions of Americans.

Federal stimulus dollars allowed states to extend unemployment benefits, but now that money is running out as more and more Americans are face long lasting unemployment. By the end of September, its estimated there will be more than 600,000 Americans who will have reached the end of their unemployment checks and still be without a job.

The head of Obama's Council of Economic Advisors says the administration is looking ahead at an extension.
