Early voting for primary runoff elections in Hidalgo County begins May 19th

HIDALGO COUNTY, TX — Early voting for the primary runoff elections will be held Monday, May 19 through Friday, May 23. During this period, 25 early voting locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to serve Hidalgo County residents.
A mobile unit will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the Hidalgo County Courthouse in Edinburg; from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg; from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Pecan campus of South Texas College in McAllen; and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the Hidalgo County Administration Building in Edinburg.
Hidalgo County officials remind residents that photo identification is required to vote in person. Registered voters who do not posses an acceptable photo identification card – such as a valid Texas driver’s license, identification card, and certificates of naturalization and citizenship – can apply for an Elections Identification Certificate at no cost from the Texas Department of Public Safety offices.
Residents who do not cast a ballot during early voting must vote at their precinct location on Election Day, Tuesday, May 27.
Voters can easily locate their precinct number, polling location and map by answering some basic questions by using the Hidalgo County Voter Lookup at http://apps.co.hidalgo.tx.us/voterlookup.
