In Cameron county, early voting also started out with a steady flow.

At least 300 voters cast their ballots in the first two hours of the polls being open. Election officer Rogelio Ortiz says the turnout has been fair the first day and he is hopeful that voters will continue to make their way to the polls. Two races that are getting a lot of attention are the County Judge and County Commissioner Precinct 2 seat. A total of 159,000 people are registered to vote in Cameron county.

Ortiz encourages voters to get to the polls during early voting period, which runs through February 26th, because this is the time voters can cast their ballot at any polling location.
