In San Benito, Police are on the look-out for several suspects involved in a drive-by shooting. News Center 23 went out to this quiet neighborhood where shots rang out this past weekend to see what residents are saying.
This drive-by shooting is really shaking up residents, especially parents.
San Benito's Heavin Resaca Trail is a place, where families come to walk, run and even slide.
So when San Benito parents, like Mother of Seven kids, Sandra Alvarado, heard about a drive-by shooting happening, just down the road, on Diaz Street
" We as parents need to be more aware of what's going on in our neighborhood, especially guns," she says.
Alvarado says, if she heard gun shots, her motherly instincts would come into play.
"First thing, I would tell them is hide behind a tree, do something to take cover throw yourself on the floor."
This neighborhood is a place where kids come into play ball, but police say, drive-by shootings don't belong here, this isn't a game."
San Benito Police say, they are still looking for up to four people, who cops believe shot at a home on Diaz Street.
Police say, they were inside a dark, early 90's Honda Accord.
Father of two boys, Cesar Gonzalez says, it's time the shooters are busted.
"I think whoever's doing that needs to be caught and taken to jail."
And all these parents agree, keeping their kids safe from gun-shots is very important.
"No one would like to lose a child to that kind of tragedy, no way."
No one was hurt in the drive-by.
