Boeing delivers its first 787 Dreamliner.

Boeing has delivered its first 787 "Dreamliner" to Japan's All Nippon Airways.

Hundreds of people took cover from the rain under the wings of two giant 787s set up near the factory where the planes are assembled this morning in everett, washington for the ceremonial delivery of the plane.

Among the changes in the new aircraft are windows that are 65-percent bigger, larger overhead bins and a cabin that Boeing says will have more oxygen, less dry air, and be quieter than any comparable planes.

Boeing's CEO Jim Albaugh told workers in the crowd the day was one of the most significant in the history of commercial aviation.

"This truly is the first new airplane of the 21st century. the first significant change in how airplanes are built since the 707 over 50 years ago," he said.

The plane will go into service in November.
