The Texas Department of Public Safety will  be increasing patrols come the July 4th holiday.

The increase will take place for 10 days starting on June 28th and ending on July 7th with Troopers focusing on DWI patrols.

During the 2012 enforcement, DPS troopers made 1,294 DWI arrests, 13,700 speeding citiations were handed out, more than 2,200 seat belt/child safety seat citations, 750 fugitive arrests and 518 felony arrests during the campaign.
