HIDALGO COUNTY - DPS Troopers arrest a Mexican national this afternoon, after a high speed chase down Expressway 83, near Penitas.

A man was driving what appeared to be a Lone Star Overnight delivery truck. But the truck was a fake.

It was a clone, set up to try and fool law enforcement. It had fake stickers and even a fake phone number. But the disguise didn't work.

This is the second arrest in two days that originated from a routine traffic stop.

"They do this so they can blend in with the business trucks that are out there and this is what they are doing. We are doing everything we can as far as DPS, local and federal, we are out there helping each other to make sure we get drugs like this off the road," said Trooper Johnny Hernandez, DPS.

Authorities believe the truck had more than 1,500 pounds of marijuana inside. DPS is still questioning the driver and investigating the vehicle.
