Firefighters work to contain wildfire burning near Boulder, Colorado.

A wildfire continues to burn out of control west of Boulder, Colorado.

The fire has already already destroyed thousands of acres and multiple homes.

The wind-whipped blaze, called the Four Mile Canyon Fire, spread quickly after starting mid morning on Labor Day.

More than 30 agencies have responded to the wildfire.

State and federal help is also on the way.

Steep, rugged terrain has made it a difficult fight.

Tankers are expected to be back in the air today dropping retardant, weather permitting.

Despite the fire's rapid advance, no injuries have been reported.

It's still not clear how it started or when it will be under control.
