Double homicide in Cameron County

CAMERON COUNTY, TEXAS (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Thursday afternoon in the small community of Calaboz a resident reported a foul smell coming from inside one of the homes.
After sheriff deputies obtained a search warrant to go into the home off 281 they made a shocking discovery.
"Inside the house they found two bodies, my understanding is they were found in the shower."said Sheriff Omar Lucio
The sheriff identified the two victims as 42 year old Lorena Gonzalez and 38 year old Homero de los Santos.
De los Santos had a reported five stab wounds to his back.
Gonzalez had five to six stab wounds to her back and chest.
"It is shocking" said Robert Galvan.
Galvan lives nearby. He has four kids.
"Is it scary with you having kids? Most defiantly I would have never assumed that anything would happen out here but it did."said Galvan.
The Cameron county sheriff department is a looking for a person of interest. His name is 47 year old Mario Gonzalez San Roman. Roman has a criminal past. He was arrested in March in Cameron County for an aggravated assault and in September for making a terroristic threat.
Investigators recovered several kitchen knives and a tire tool in the house.
Galvan is on edge after this incident and says he will do his best to keep his family safe.
"Be more aware of going on around us." Said Galvan.
The sheriff says investigators do not have a motive for the deaths at this time.
