Duck builds its nest inside Home Depot flower display.

Urban sprawl has taken over wilderness areas in some towns, turning wild animals into pesky intruders.

But at the Home Depot in Bangor, Maine one unexpected critter is getting five star treatment.

A female mallard duck has been nesting among the flowers at the store for almost a month.

Staff are looking after her as she looks after her unhatched ducklings.

Officials at Home Depot say a similar duck visited the store last year but flew off on its own.

Game wardens say it's not uncommon for them to get calls from people where animals have wandered away from their natural habitat into rural areas.

Officials at Home Depot say the news of the duck has brought added foot traffic to the store.

They expect her eggs to hatch and for her and her ducklings to be back in the wild within a week.
