Donna I.S.D. Joins Protest in STARR Testing Exams
DONNA — The Donna I.S.D. is joining in the growing protest over standardized testing in the State of Texas and is asking lawmakers to change the STARR testing exams. Four hundred other school districts in the state are making a similar request and Donna Superintendent Roberto Loredo stated the STARR testing puts to much pressure on students, "That increases the stress, in particular, for the students and for educators all over the state because that system has not bee finalized as to how it's actually going to work." The superintendent says it could take up to two years before any changes are made to the standardized tests.
