Dogs at Center of Police Search Arguments

MCALLEN:  Supreme court arguments are covering to major cases nationally involving the roles of dogs utilized for searching and seizing cars and homes.  

The two appeals stemmed from cases in Florida involving what some believe are violations of Fourth Amendment rights. 

The appeals could have far-reaching impact on when a person's home can be searched.

Although many law enforcement agencies utilize K9's as a means to search cars and homes, many believe it violates certain rights.

Several law enforcement agencies within the valley also utilize K9's when they believe they are needed.
