There is encouraging news for local stroke patients as state health leaders have named Doctors Hospital at Renaissance a level two stroke facility. The idea with stroke patients is to minimize the length of their hospital stay and maximize their mobility and survivor rate as Chief of Staff Dr. Robert Martinez stated, "They want to help these patients hopefully avoid a stroke, but when they get here with a stroke they want to make sure in a timely fashion they are able to provide the care that they need to hopefully minimize any potential harm or damage that we see from strokes long term." It's best to seek help within four hours of suffering a stroke.
