The McAllen Police Department is getting some help bringing joy to children this holiday season.

The Doctor's Hospital at Renaissance donated ten thousand dollars to the department to support its Christmas for Kids event.

The event features music, a parade and toy donations for Valley children.

"It's always important to reach out to those in our community who may be less fortunate than ourselves. It's an opportunity for us to give and share at the same time with those families," Doctor's Hospital CEO Carlos Cardenas said. "The biggest payback is the smile that you get from a child when you give a child a toy. That's it."

The Doctor's Hospital has helped donate more than a hundred and forty thousand dollars over the years through its involvement with Christmas for Kids.
